Akanksha Verma is a senior journalist with over a decade of experience in the news media industry. Based in Noida, she currently holds the position of Deputy Editor in The Daily Jagran, where she leads editorial operations and drives digital content strategy. Her areas of expertise include breaking news coverage, live blogging and long-form explainers on key national, political and geopolitical issues.
She received 'e4m English Journalism 40 under 40' award in 2022 for her contribution to journalism. Her Immersive story on Lok Sabha Elections In India won 'afaqs Brand Storyz Award for Best Use of Infographics' in 2024.

She holds a degree in BA English Honours from Ramjas College, University of Delhi, and PG Diploma in English Journalism from IIMC, Dhenkanal, Odisha. She can speak and write English and Hindi languages, and has acquired a beginner-level certification in Korean language.
Beyond newsroom operations, Akanksha loves to read books which explore gender and social issues. In her moments of inspiration, she writes poetry.
