MI vs RCB IPL 2026: After Mumbai Indians suffered an 18-run defeat at the hands of Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Sunday, a video of captain Hardik Pandya's dressing room pep talk was shared by the official X handle of the team. This was MI's third loss in IPL 2026 so far. Though deeply disappointed by the loss, Pandya could be heard motivating his team to introspect together instead of "disappearing" into their rooms.

In the video, Pandya could be heard giving his teammates two options: "Either go to the hotel room and think about your performance or face it together." The Mumbai Indians captain was accompanied by head coach Mahela Jayawardene.

He said, "Thinking from what MJ said, I think here there are two options we can do. One is go back in our rooms, go back into our cocoon spaces and try to figure it out. I know it's tough losing but let's learn... let's not disappear. It's always winning and learning, never losing. So let's do that. Once we go back to hotel, let's have a meal together. We'll talk about cricket. We'll talk about something else but we'll figure it out."

RCB batted first at the Wankhede Stadium and scored 240 runs. In response, Mumbai could only manage 222. Sherfane Rutherford was the only player for Mumbai who stood up to the RCB bowlers and brought the score closer.

Pandya also expressed disappointment with the bowling department as he pointed out that major changes may be needed to secure victory in upcoming outings. "I think we conceded too many runs. I think the target of 241 runs was achievable. In the last few matches, our bowling and batting have not been dominant. We really need to shine, see what we can do and how we can regain momentum. We need a win," he said.
