Asha Bhosle On Daughter’s Death

Asha Bhosle discussed her daughter's passing and how it was the greatest loss of her life in an interview with PTI. She said that she will carry the agony of her daughter's suicide with her till the day she passes away. She continued by saying that although others would forget it, it will remain with her since she sobs in private and keeps her pain to herself.

"It is sad that my daughter could not see my film (Mai). Let me tell you something, I do not know about God’s judgement, in fact his judgements are sometimes harsh when he delivers it. The pain that the girl (Varsha) has caused me or God has caused me, will hurt me till I die, it will be invisible to the others though, because you should always laugh with others but cry alone. So that is why I do not talk about my grief or try to show my pain."
