Shraddha Kapoor reacted to the passing of renowned playback singer Asha Bhosle in a short but poignant post. The actress posted a devastated emoji on Instagram Stories, using the song Aage Bhi Jaane Na Tu from the popular film Waqt to convey her sorrow without using words. Asha Bhosle, her grand-aunt, sang the beloved track.

Shraddha Kapoor And Asha Bhosle Connection

For those who don't know, Asha Bhosle's great-niece is Shraddha Kapoor. Asha Bhosle and Lata Mangeshkar's first cousin was Pandharinath Kolhapure, Shraddha's maternal grandpa. Shraddha Kapoor was close to the late singer's family, who frequently referred to her as 'Asha Aaji' (grandmother).

Asha Bhosle's lifeless remains were transported to her Lower Parel home, Casa Grande. On Monday, April 13, from 11 AM to 3 PM, family members, close friends, and relatives will pay their final respects. Following that, the funeral will be held at Shivaji Park, revealed her son.

The music industry and fans across the world have been mourning Asha Bhosle's death at the age of 92. Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan, among many other actors, paid homage. Salman Khan wrote, "A huge loss for Indian music…. Heartbroken to hear about Asha ji. An irreplaceable voice, Your songs will continue to inspire generations."

Shah Rukh Khan, on the other hand, wrote, "It’s truly sad to learn about Asha Tai’s passing… her voice has been one of the pillars of Indian cinema and will continue to resonate world over for centuries to come. A talent that will outlive many, she always showered me with blessings and love and i will miss her. Rest in Peace Asha Tai… love you."

Asha Bhosle Songs

Asha Bhosle is one of the most well-known and prosperous vocalists in Hindi cinema. She has had a career of over 80 years and has recorded more than 12,000 songs in over 20 Indian and foreign languages. The renowned singer won numerous prestigious honours, such as the Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian award, and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award.

In Aankhon Ki Masti, Ye Kya Jagah Hai Doston, Jab Bhi Milti Hai, and Justuju Jiski Thi are some of her well-known songs. She recorded her debut movie song, Chala Chala Nav Bala, for the Marathi film Majha Bal in 1943, marking the beginning of her singing career.
