The music world stands still as we bid farewell to a titan of melody, Legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle, who passed away at 92 on April 12, 2026, at Breach Candy Hospital. Her last rites will be held on April 13 in Mumbai. Her departure marks the end of an era spanning over eight decades, during which she recorded thousands of songs in 20 languages. Known for her unmatched versatility, she became the voice behind many leading heroines and shaped generations of music lovers.

How Many Languages Did Asha Bhosle Sing In?

Asha Bhosle, famously called The Queen of Indipop, was one of the most versatile singers in the world. She recorded songs in more than 20 languages. These included major Indian languages like Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Gujarati and Punjabi. She also gave her voice to Bhojpuri, Assamese, Oriya and Nepali.

She also sang in foreign languages such as English, Russian, Malay, and Arabic. Her ability to adapt her voice according to different cultures and music styles made her truly unique. This wide range helped her connect with audiences across regions and generations.
