The Redmi A7 Pro 5G is now official in India, and it’s arriving pretty quickly after its global debut. Xiaomi seems to be sticking to a simple idea here, and that is to give users a big screen, solid battery life, and just enough performance to get through everyday use without issues.
A Big Display That Stands Out
The first thing you’ll probably notice is the size. This phone comes with a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display, which is quite large even by today’s standards. It also supports a 120Hz refresh rate, so scrolling through apps or social media should feel smoother than what you’d expect at this price.

Brightness goes up to 800 nits, and there’s TÜV Low Blue Light certification too, which basically means it should be a bit easier on the eyes during long usage.
Day-to-Day Performance
Inside, the phone runs on a Unisoc T8300 chipset. It’s paired with 4GB RAM and up to 128GB storage, which is fairly standard for this segment. There’s also support for expanding storage up to 2TB, so space shouldn’t really be a problem if you store a lot of photos or videos.
It runs on Android 16 with HyperOS 3 on top. What’s interesting is Xiaomi promising long-term support, which in its language translates to four years of Android updates and six years of security patches. That’s not something you usually see in this price range.
You also get features like Gemini and Circle to Search, which are slowly making their way into more affordable phones.
Cameras Keep Things Simple
On the camera side, it’s a straightforward setup. You get a 32-megapixel main camera at the back, along with a secondary sensor that Xiaomi hasn’t really detailed much about. For selfies and video calls, there’s an 8-megapixel front camera.
It’s not trying to be a camera-focused phone, but for basic photos and social media, it should get the job done.
The Battery Might Be The Highlight
If there’s one area where this phone could really stand out, it’s battery life. The 6,300mAh battery is quite large, and for most people, it should easily last a full day or even more.
Charging is capped at 15W, so it’s not the fastest out there, but you do get 7W reverse wired charging, which can be useful in a pinch.
Connectivity and Extras
You’re getting all the usual connectivity options here with 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, and support for GPS, GLONASS, and Galileo. There’s also an IP52 rating, so it can handle minor splashes and dust without much worry.
Price and Availability
The Redmi A7 Pro 5G starts at Rs. 11,499 for the 4GB + 64GB variant, while the 128GB version is priced at Rs. 12,499. It will be available in Black, Mist Blue, and Sunset Orange.
