LSG vs GT IPL 2026: Rishabh Pant was at the receiving end of the fans after being dismissed cheaply during their IPL 2026 match against the Gujarat Titans in Lucknow on Sunday. Pant, who came into bat at the No.3 position, had scored just 18 runs off 11 balls, in which he had smashed two fours and one six, and then Mohammed Siraj dismissed him.
He did show glimpses of his old self during this innings, but then gifted his wicket. He started batting aggressively as he smashed two fours in Kagiso Rabada's over. He started batting carefully in Siraj's over as he was seen changing the strike and had also played a brilliant cover drive. He had smashed a six in Rabada's over and also took risks with brilliant stroke play.
His innings came to an end as he tried to go big in Siraj's over. He mistimed a shot, and Rahul Tewatia, who was standing at cover region, took the catch. Pant's dismissal left the host at 45/2 in 4.1 overs and had also stitched a partnership of 31 runs for the second wicket with Aiden Markram.
After that, the fans slammed Pant for playing that unnecessary shot. A lot of people slammed him for his approach, and a few described him as the worst batter in this format. One fan even emphasized that he hasn't justified his price tag of Rs 27 crore, as he had become the most expensive player in the history of this tournament after being bought by the Lucknow-based franchise during the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Here's how fans trolled Rishabh Pant

HOW HAS PANT PLAYED IN IPL 2026?
Pant has had a mixed campaign so far, showing glimpses of his old self while remaining inconsistent. After playing in four matches, he has scored 103 runs at an average of 34.33 and a brilliant strike rate of 130.37. He had also scored a match-winning knock of 68 runs during their match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
But his performances haven't been up to the mark. In the last few matches, he has been inconsistent, scoring 7, 8, 68, and 18 runs, which shows he hasn't been able to convert his starts into runs. There has been a dip in his strike rate as well while batting aggressively, and that has resulted in early dismissals.
He will try to register a big knock during their next IPL 2026 match against the Royal Challengers Bengaluru next week.
