Ahead of the upcoming budget session, the Jharkhand government is making significant strides toward a paperless legislative environment. In a major digital push, state ministers and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) will soon be provided with tablets to conduct official business. To ensure a smooth transition, a dedicated training program has been scheduled for all representatives.

Preparations For E-Vidhan Completed

Speaker Rabindranath Mahto recently inspected the digital infrastructure installed in the Assembly Hall. Following a review of the equipment on Tuesday, he issued necessary directives to officials to ensure the system is ready for the transition. The implementation is being carried out through the National e-Vidhan Application (NEVA), an integrated platform designed to digitize legislative bodies.

What Is NEVA?

The National e-Vidhan Application (NEVA) is a unified digital platform that enables the paperless management of legislative tasks. This includes:

Legislative Documents: Digital handling of questions and answers, agendas, bills, and motions.

Notices: Streamlining "calling attention" notices and other proposals.

Digital Records: Maintaining electronic archives of house proceedings and committee reports.

By implementing NEVA, the Jharkhand Assembly aims to boost administrative efficiency, ensure transparency, and maintain strict timelines. This initiative is viewed as a milestone in making Jharkhand a leader in digital governance.

Chief Minister Hemant Soren is set to formally inaugurate the NEVA Service Center at the Jharkhand Assembly complex on February 11.
