Summer Special Trains: In a major update for the passengers, the Railways has announced the operation of two "summer special" trains between Howrah and Mumbai. The officials, while providing details, stated that the decision is taken to clear the extra rush expected in the next few months. They further stated that ticket booking for these trains will begin on April 12, advising the passengers to stay updated. While reservations can be made through the official website of the IRCTC, bookings for the unreserved coaches can be done through the UTS system.
While providing details, Dr Swapnil Nila, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of Central Railways stated that the additional trains will operate to provide extra option to the passengers. "Central Railway will run 2 Additional Special Trains between Lokmanya Tilak Terminus, Mumbai & Howrah to clear the extra rush of passengers travelling during the summer season," Nila said in his statement.
Train number 01145 Details
- It will depart from Mumbai at 20:15 hrs on April 14 and will arrive Howrah at 6 AM on third day
- The special train will stop at several stations, including Thane, Kalyan, Nashik Road, Bhusaval, Akola, Badnera, Nagpur, Gondia, Durg, Raipur, Bilaspur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela, Chakaradharpur, Tatanagar, Kharagpur and Santragachi.
- It will comprise 2 AC 2-tier coaches, 9 AC 3-tier coaches, 3 Sleeper Class coaches, and 4 General Second Class coaches.

Train number 01146 Details
- It will depart from Howrah at 14:45 hrs on April 16 and will arrive Mumbai at 23:45 hrs on April 17
- The train will halt at 17 stations such as Santragachi, Kharagpur, Tatanagar, Chakradharpur, Rourkela, Jharsuguda, Bilaspur, Raipur, Durg, Gondia, Nagpur, Badnera, Akola, Bhusaval, Nashik Road, Kalyan and Thane.
The officials have advised the residents to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid the rush.
