Political Parties Switch To Election Mode

With the reservation process underway, the state’s three major political forces have intensified their grassroots activities:

Congress: State President Bhakta Charan Das stated that the party is strengthening its structure through panchayat-level meetings, aiming for a significant comeback in the upcoming polls.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP): Following a 'Gaon Chalo' (Go to Villages) strategy, the BJP is working to capitalise on its "double-engine government" achievements, aiming to solidify its reach at the booth level.

Shifting Alliances And New Challenges

The political landscape has seen a notable shift since the 2024 General Elections, with many local panchayat representatives leaning toward the ruling party. This trend presents a growing challenge for the opposition as they attempt to reclaim ground.

As the reservation lists are finalised, the political equations in rural Odisha are expected to become increasingly complex and competitive.
