In a shocking incident highlighting the growing menace of stray dog attacks, a three-year-old girl from Madhya Pradesh's Ujjain was attacked by a stray dog. The toddler suffered multiple severe injuries following the attack and had 55 stitches. Commuters narrate how they leave their homes, having a constant fear of being attacked on the streets. Despite the increasing tensions among the residents, the authorities have failed to implement any concrete action to address the issue.

How Was The Minor Attacked?

The family claimed that the toddler was playing outside the house when a stray dog suddenly pounced on her. The dog mauled her face severely. Hearing the minor's screams, the family rushed out of the residence. Somehow, they managed to rescue her from the animal.

The three-year-old was rushed to Agar District Hospital, and her condition was severe. According to the doctors, she had deep wounds on her face that required approximately 55 stitches. After receiving first aid, she was referred to Indore for advanced treatment.

Stray dog attacks have become rampant in the recent days in the state. A few days ago, a motorist was injured after a stray dog lunged at him on the main road of Samgi Mana village, located on Sarangpur Road.

A three-year-old girl was attacked by stray dogs at a hospital in the state. A group of stray dogs suddenly attacked her, inflicting serious bite injuries. The minor is currently admitted to the hospital, where she has been undergoing treatment for the past two days.

Residents state that incidents of attacks on small children and the elderly are on the rise, inflicting fear in the minds of people. They have demanded a permanent solution to the stray dog menace from the municipal body and the concerned department.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had also expressed concern over the rising number of incidents involving stray dogs and directed states to implement effective control measures. Despite this, the situation remains unchanged in several areas, including Agar-Malwa.

Over 350 Dog Bite Cases Registered

According to data from the Agar District Hospital, more than 350 dog bite cases have been recorded since January 2026. Medical experts advise that in the event of a dog bite, the victim should be immediately taken to the nearest government hospital to ensure timely access to necessary, free-of-cost treatment. Government hospitals provide treatment—including anti-rabies vaccines, HRIG (Human Rabies Immunoglobulin), and tetanus shots—in accordance with established protocols, making it possible to prevent life-threatening diseases like rabies.
