In a tragic incident, a van collided with a cement mixer, leaving 11 people killed, while two others were injured in Maharashtra's Thane district. The incident occurred around 11:30 AM on the Raita Bridge in Govili village, Murbad.

According to police, the van collided head-on with a cement mixer coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that 11 people in the van died on the spot.

Police are continuing rescue and relief operations at the accident site. Following the accident, traffic on the bridge was blocked. Police are working to clear it.

Upon receiving information about the accident, local police, rescue teams, and medical teams immediately arrived at the scene. The work of transporting the injured to hospitals and recovering the bodies is ongoing on a war footing.

The exact cause of the accident remains unknown. The police are investigating the accident. The Eeco van was carrying residents from Murbad. The vehicle was heading to Mumbai's Kalyan.

It collided with a cement mixer travelling in the opposite direction while crossing the bridge.

The collision was reportedly so intense that the passengers didn't get enough time to react to escape. According to the information, locals believe there were 12 people in the van when it met with the accident.

An elderly woman is reported to have survived the crash with injuries. Locals rushed to the spot soon after the accident, after hearing the loud crash. They aided in pulling out the bodies from the van, which was completely damaged.

A report by Hindustan Times suggests that nine of the 11 deceased have been identified. The nine passengers are Prashant alias Bablu Rupesh Chandane, Ananta Pawar, Bhushan Ghorpade, Jija Govinda Kembari, Deepak Gavli, Ganpat Jainu Madhe, Sneha Mohpe, Mansi Mohpe, and Prathamesh Mohpe.
