The 42nd meeting of the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) was held in New Delhi under the chairmanship of Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal. The meeting was attended by Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini and senior officials from the Centre and NCR states.
No NCR Cities To Be Removed, Says CM Saini
Addressing the media after the meeting, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said one of the most important decisions taken was that there would be no reduction in the NCR area. He clarified that the cities and districts currently included in the NCR will continue to remain part of the region, and no area will be removed at present.

The statement comes amid discussions over revising NCR boundaries, with concerns that five cities could be excluded from the region. However, Saini said the NCR Planning Board has decided to maintain the existing structure.
The five cities proposed to be excluded are:
-Mahendragarh
-Jind
-Bhiwani
-Charkhi Dadri
-Karnal
Air Pollution, Transport And Aravalli Conservation Discussed
The Chief Minister said discussions were also held on environmental and infrastructure challenges in NCR districts adjoining Haryana.
Key focus areas included:
-Categorising pollution-control measures across NCR
-Conservation of the Aravalli range
-Promotion of BS-VI vehicles
-Modernisation of transport infrastructure
-Expansion of Metro connectivity
-Expansion of the Namo Bharat transit network to meet future population needs
Key Decisions Taken At The Meeting
Union Minister Manohar Lal said the Regional Plan 2041 will be announced within the next two months and will not reduce the NCR area.

Other major points discussed were:
-No NCR city or district will be removed from the region under the upcoming plan.
-Environmental regulations will be implemented under three categories.
-BS-VI vehicles will be promoted to curb pollution.
-Older BS-I, BS-II, and BS-III vehicles operating in NCR will be phased out.
-BS-IV vehicles can continue to be sold in non-NCR districts.
Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta also participated in the meeting and shared suggestions related to the development of Delhi and the surrounding NCR regions.
The meeting concluded on a positive note, with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini thanking Union Minister Manohar Lal and Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta for their contributions to the discussions.
