Delhi-NCR Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the weather of Delhi and other nearby cities is likely to change significantly in the upcoming days. The national capital got a temporary relief from the scorching heat due to the continuous rain; however, the temperature is likely to surge in the next few days. The residents are also likely to witness strong warm surface winds, leading to inconveniences. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings during the daytime hours.
While the maximum temperature on Friday was calculated at 32.8 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature remained around 20 degrees Celsius. However, the weather department asserted that the maximum temperature is likely to cross 40 degrees Celsius after April 15. The temperature during the night hours is also likely to surge in the upcoming days, leading to inconveniences.
Along with Delhi, several other cities, including Noida, Ghaziabad, and Gurugram, are also likely to witness similar weather conditions throughout the week. The IMD stated that the residents of Delhi are likely to witness winds with a speed of 11 km per hour, adding that the humidity is expected to remain at 49 per cent. The weather department also stated that the strong surface wind has also improved the air quality of the national capital over the past few days.
The Air Quality Index (AQI) on Saturday was calculated at 126, falling into the 'Moderate' category. The experts asserted that the air quality is expected to remain in the moderate category throughout the next week. While the AQI in Sonia Vihar remained in the 'Good' category, Wazirpur's air quality was recorded at 210, placing it in the 'Poor' category.
However, several parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal are likely to witness light rain in the next few days, providing relief from the rising heat.
