A late night confrontation in South Delhi's Vasant Enclave area resulted in the alleged assault of a serving Army Brigadier and his son by group of eight people. The incident occured around 10 pm on Friday, April 11, after an Army Bridagier confronted two individuals found consuming acohol inside a vehicle parked in residential area.
Reports from several sources, including social media accounts such as Colonel Danvir Singh and Nitin Bijalwan, indicate that a serving Brigadier and his son, an IIT graduate, were the victims of a brutal assault.
The authorities in Indian Army have taken serious cognizance of the case.

Last night (11 April), at around 10:00 PM, a serving Brigadier’s family encountered two individuals consuming alcohol inside their car (Regn No. DL3CCY 0789) near their residence in Vasant Enclave.

Escalation Of Violence
The initial dispute over public drinking quickly turned violent when the two men summoned reinforcements. Approximately 7 to 8 additional individuals arrived at the scene in several vehicles, launching a physical assault on the pair. The Brigadier's son reportedly suffered severe injuries, while the officer was manhandled and shoved while trying to protect him.

Allegations Of Police Inaction
Serious questions have been raised regarding the response of local law enforcement. Witnesses claim that:
- A police van was present during the attack, but officers allegedly failed to intervene.
- The Vasant Vihar police station initially refused to file a FIR when the victims first attempted to report the crime.
Official Response And Army Statement
The Indian Army has formally addressed the matter, noting that the Brigadier was on leave in Delhi at the time. A Military Police team has been assigned to support the officer and the Army has urged the Delhi Police to prioritise the investigation.

While an FIR has finally been registered following pressure from the family, the incident has sparked outrage among military veterans and civil society. Critics are demanding strict accountability for the perpetrators and a formal review of the professional conduct of the responding police officers.
