Days after a major security lapse at the Delhi Assembly raised serious concerns, the House received two bomb threat emails on Monday, threatening to “blow up the Vidhan Sabha with 15 cyanide gas-filled RDX bombs”. The emails also made references to Tamil Nadu’s upcoming political situation.
According to reports, the threats were sent to the official email IDs of the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat and Speaker Vijender Gupta. The message, written in Hindi and identical in both emails, warned that an explosion would be carried out within three hours. It also claimed that only “Muslim employees should be evacuated,” adding inflammatory and communal remarks.

“Within 3 hours, we'll carry out blasts in your Delhi Vidhan Sabha with 15 cyanide gas-filled RDX bombs. Only the Muslim employees should be evacuated from the premises,” HT quoted the email.
The email further alleged political motives ahead of the Tamil Nadu elections on April 23, with counting to be held on May 4. Some main participants in the 2026 assembly elections are the current ruling party (DMK), the other major party (AIADMK), and the new party, TVK.
"Staff, no Brahmin should be a part of the DMK. If at all, they become a part of the party, they should chant the slogan 'Periyar-Ambedkar zindabad' in a naked state. Only then will we allow them to be one among us,” the threat read.
Mentioning SV Shekhar, the threat further states, "a Brahmin," has joined the DMK. "This is why we are going to blow up your Vidhan Sabha because you have sent him to South India and the DMK as a BJP Brahmin agent."

This incident comes shortly after a serious security breach at the Delhi Assembly complex, when a man managed to drive through Gate 2 in a vehicle, entered the premises, placed a bouquet on Speaker Vijender Gupta’s car, and then left before being detained. The accused, identified as Sarabjit Singh from Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit, was later taken into custody.
"He kept saying he would meet a police officer or Netaji (minister) to solve the case. He had only gone there to give flowers and show papers about my son. He shouldn’t have broken the gate and all, but he’s not a criminal. He is a patient. We have all his medical records," HT cited Singh's brother-in-law, Harman Singh.
