Karan Johar has postponed the ‘Chand Mera Dil’ title track as a tribute to Asha Bhosle, who passed away on April 12. He also shared a heartfelt note in her memory, saying her music will live forever. The makers confirmed that the song’s release has been pushed by a day. 

Karan Johar’s upcoming film Chand Mera Dil was set to release its title track on April 13. However, as a mark of respect for Asha Bhosle, the makers have decided to delay the song by a day. The title track, featuring Ananya Panday and Lakshya Lalwani, will now be released on April 14. ,

Born in 1933 into the illustrious Mangeshkar dynasty, legendary singer Asha Bhosle was the daughter of Deenanath Mangeshkar. She shared her musical heritage with siblings Lata, Usha, Meena, and Hridaynath. Her 1949 marriage to Ganpatrao Bhosle produced three children: Hemant, Anand, and the late Varsha. 

Following a 1960 separation, she later married celebrated composer RD Burman in 1980, a partnership lasting until his 1994 passing. Today, her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, proudly carries forward the family’s iconic musical legacy.,

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed deep sorrow over the passing of legendary playback singer Asha Bhosle. In a post on X, she described Asha ji as a musical genius who captivated hearts for generations and enjoyed immense popularity in Bengal, where she also sang many Bengali songs. After the heartbreaking news of her demise, the legendary singer’s son, Anand Bhosle, confirmed to ANI that her last rites will be performed on Monday, April 13, at 4:00 PM at Shivaji Park. To allow fans and well-wishers to pay their final respects, an antim darshan will be held at 11:00 AM at her residence, Casa Grande in Lower Parel. Asha Bhosle was regarded as one of the idols of Bollywood's golden age of music in the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s. Her sister Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammad Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Manna Dey, and Bhosle herself were all notable vocalists.

Asha Bhosle recorded in more than 20 Indian and international languages during her lifetime. She claimed to have recorded more than 12,000 songs over her career in 2006.
